Join our team at our Leona Schools Support Office to support all 28 of our unique campuses across Arizona and make a difference for the students we serve!
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The payroll specialist is responsible for the important work of processing payroll with a detail-oriented and highly skilled understanding of payroll and regulations. The payroll specialist works closely with our schools and support office to contribute to the smooth operation of our payroll system and support the financial well-being of our employees.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
  • Process semi-monthly payroll using Paycom
  • Enter all applicable taxes, deductions, and employee status change requests on time
  • Process A.C.H. payment/reversals, stop-payments, and voids
  • Respond to payroll inquiries via a Paycom centralized email system - "Ask Here"
  • Review punch records to resolve time reporting issues and make edits when necessary
  • Process, monitor & reconcile garnishment withholdings
  • Working knowledge of state and federal wage tax laws, as well as the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Work directly with school staff regarding payroll needs
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • 1-2 years of high-volume payroll processing experience
  • Recent experience working with Paycom (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
